it was amazing
bookshelves: fantasy, leisure, science-fiction, ya
Read from March 03 to 10, 2010

This is one of those books I just couldn't stop reading. Even though it's not as explicitly a literary reference as some of his other books, he still manages to sneak in some fun surprises. I loved the dystopic future setting; it was an old story but with a fun new twist. Although there are two more books planned, it doesn't end on a cliffhanger which is nice although the ending definitely left me impatient for the next book. I would even recommend this book for YA; the main character is like 20 and there isn't anything too explicit. There are also some coming of age type themes. I don't think it's intended for YA, but I do think it's more YA-friendly then some of the Thursday Next books.
