The writing has definitely taken a step up in quality, and the plotting has as well. On the other hand, during the climax it felt like line-to-line continuity wasn't as tight as it could be, with objects appearing and disappearing at random. Also, the smaller little twists at the end that really could have been built up better - as it was they felt cheap. There was also a bit of Spontaneous Generated Past Event - a phenomenon in which a major character sudden develops an event in their past, which had not existed before that moment, for the convenience of the current story. It's not a foul in my book, but it does make me sigh.

On an enjoyment I really liked it. Lots of great major developments, and plenty of foreshadowing of things to come. I would have liked a little more explanation of some things, but otherwise this is a series that is easily on the same level as the Dresden Files.
