it was amazing
Read in January, 2008

Somewhat to my chagrin, this was the first book Cole memorized, at about age 2. My chagrin was due to the subject of the machine's work, which is to knock down a charming vintage '20s brick building and a tree, and put up a steel and concrete structure. Sigh. But we were delighted that he quickly memorized the pages and could read them to us, though I think we could never quite get him to do it on camera.
