This book provides a detailed and interesting look into the struggles that occur between impoverished peoples living amongst or near large predators that are often the focus of large scale international conservation efforts. These people are unable to monetarily benefit from the conservation of these creatures and further may lose the ability to farm certain tracts of land or may lose domesticated animals to predation. This is the overlooked consequence of conservation in developing nations when the human impacts are ignored. Excellent read and interesting scientifically.
