liked it

Combination mystery/court room drama about a drug-related murder in Brooklyn and the down on his luck public defender who takes the case. I started off really liking the book. I think the author has a pretty good style; it stayed very suspenseful throughout. However, the ending was ultimately unsatisfying, and I thought the author brought in too many red herrings and/or subplots that didn't support the main plot. The fact that most of the main characters were drug dealers or users didn't make them very sympathetic either.
