I read this shortly after our big family trip to DisneyWorld. The story of Walt Disney is fascinating, yet ultimately sad. That great cliche continues to be true, with great genius comes great sorrow, or something like that. His family suffered from his obsessive nature, but so many more benefited from it. His ideas for the future were also interesting and it is sad to see that most of them have come to an end with his death. Those who continued the business have focused on making commercial success instead of pushing the boundaries as he did.
He is greatly missed as our pop-culture continues to founder in mediocrity.
