if you enjoy travel, you must read this book. it focuses more on independent long-term travel (several months or more), but the lessons here are universally applicable to all travel - whether it's to the furthest corner of the earth, or a daytrip from your home. absolutely loved it, and will read it again in a couple of weeks.
