it was ok
bookshelves: paranormal, ya

For me this was REALLY slow! I almost stopped reading it about halfway through, but when I could'nt make it to the library to get another book I picked it up again. I kept thinking things were going to get moving but there were SOO many things hinted at that were never followed up on.
For instance,
what happened to Sylvia?
Why was the door at the center locked when Adam and the other two tried to go in?
In the beginning Karen lives at the center "because her needs are great" according to Thomas, but in the end we find out she lives with her family...
And what are her needs? What are any of the "living impaired" kids' needs?

Anyhow, it picked up right at the end and now I want to read the second book to find out what happens but I just don't think I can read 290 more pages of nothing just to get to the 10 pages of good at the end.... It's a toss up.
