Absolutely the best book I've read so far this year.
Ancient art conservator Hannah gets a call in the early morning that the missing Sarajevo Haggadah has been found - this old Jewish text was feared destroyed after bombs had rained down on the museum housing it during the recent war. She travels from her homeland Australia to conserve the "book" and within its pages, Hannah makes a number of discoveries that reveal the history of the Haggadah.
Not only is this an interesting story about Hannah's career and life, alternating chapters take the story further and further back in time as she researches the secrets of the book.
This was hard to put down - I highly recommend it.
