"Suffering is the great equalizer" could easily be a line in this book. Powerful female characters, exquisite storytelling. It's been awhile since I've read a book where one so easily falls in love with some of the characters, like Aibileen, Minny, Skeeter and baby girl Mae Mobley, and where you chew your nails wondering if they are all going to be okay by the time you get to the end.
