it was ok

Another YA read..this is yet another modern re-telling of the classic fairy-tale "Beauty and the Beast." Set in modern New York city, the beast is a young, rich, spoiled, handsome son of a celebrity newscaster. He crosses the wrong witch at a high school dance and ends up the monster of the famous story. I found the writing kind of boring and lacking the charm of other fairy tale adaptations. It's also a little vulgar in the beginning considering the audience. The only redeeming element of the story for me is really just a side note. At the beginning of each section, you read an online "chat" session of a support group for people who have been changed from one form to another by wicked witches. So the "beast" chats with his online friends...a frog prince, red rose, and a young mermaid who is deeply in love with a human.
