From a historical perspective, Lund's "The Undaunted" was a great read. However, the dialog between the main characters was too modern in my opinion - and even cheesy throughout some passages. In addition, the relationship details proved much too predictable (maybe meant to be?).

I did enjoy reading through the author's endnotes/original sources and learned a great deal about what the Hole-In-the-Rock pioneers faced through their travels. It is evident the author places a high importantce on finding the truth about the trek. I found myself trying to place myself in the shoes of those early settlers and asking how I would respond to such a call. I can only hope that I would have the faith, determination, and courage that they did to accomplish such a feat.
