Ray Dudgeon is man who tries to stick up for the underdogs. Since he has trouble doing it within the confines of the law and convention, he is a P.I. who has no problem skirting the law.

This is the second in the series set in Chicago. He handles the city well in that the areas he speaks are in the correct geographical locations and also speaks the flavor of those areas.

In this story truth is not always what it seems. Nicely done thrill ride.

Charisse Thanks for the recommendation, Peg - should I read the first in the series before this one or can I pick this one as is?

message 2: by Peg (new) - rated it 4 stars

Peg You can pick this one as is - I prefer series books that are also can hold their own as a standalone. However, that be said, the first book gives information and lays the ground work. It too was a dandy read.

Charisse Just picked up the first book from the library :)
