According to this author Jackson was responsible for three things. He closed the United States Bank, he prevented South Carolina from leaving the union and he moved the Indians in the south to west of the Mississippi. This policy was responsible for the Trail of Tears. He was able to be a President of the people and garnered popular support, but he was pro slavery. I wonder what would have happened if he would have been alive at the time of the Civil War
