In Pirate Latitudes, privateer captain Charles Hunter and his crew set off to raid an invincible Spanish port harboring a damaged treasure galleon. Hunter’s cleverness and his luck play heavily in the story as he fights off a Spanish warship, attacks the fortress, survives a hurricane, escapes some cannibals, and repels a giant kraken attack. Some parts are more believable than others; it is a pirate story in the flavor of Pirates of the Caribbean. However, the women in the book are immodest and immoral, so this is not a pirate story for kids. I would rate it R.
