Read in February, 2010

This is a complicated book - it is about immigration (in this case from Greece to Detroit); it is about incest; it is about family; it is about hermaphroditism (and gender identification). This book won the Pulitzer Prize and the writing is brilliant, though it is not for everyone.

Nell Corkin Read this a few years ago, and thought it was excellent. The Detroit connection was a plus for me.

Alita Sevin Very well put. It's been years since I read it but this is a memorable book...for style and substance.
