I must shamefully admit that I only forced myself to read this bio because it won a Printz honor last month - and oh man, am I glad I did. It is easily as moving and gripping as any work of fiction. Heiligman's affection for and knowledge of her subjects comes through so well, and she never loses sight of her main theme - how the Darwins' differences manage to strengthen rather than undermine their marriage.
