First, I wouldn't let young teens read this book. With that being said, I loved it. Fire was an incredible character. She was very well developed and I adored her. With everything that she had to do and had to go through, she turned out to be a pretty good person. Brigan wasn't in the story enough. I wanted more Brigan. He also went through so much and had to do too much that he didn't want to do, but he was good at it and the kingdom needed him. I hate that he was gone most of the time, and I wanted their relationship to develop more. It took a very long time for them and not enough book time.

Either way, the writing was great, the premise was great, the characters were great. I did hate all the cheating and sleeping around that everyone seemed to like to do. You never really knew who parented who. It drove me crazy. I still liked the end result, regardless.
