During a conversation with a close friend last year, she told me that The Princess Bride is one of her favorite books. I loved the movie, but quite honestly had no idea there was a book! So I added it to my list of books to read. Well, here I finally am reading it for myself. I have always found...in my experience...that the book is always better than the movie. In this case? They are in equal playing fields. Having seen the movie first, I think I enjoyed the book even more. Why? I found it all so amusing that some of my favorite scenes in the movie were word for word from the book! I absolutely loved Goldman's interruptions throughout the book. I found this book to be so very entertaining. And the whole S Morganstern thing? I know some were disappointed. I found it made me enjoy this whole story and book even more. William Goldman? You are brilliant! I loved it! A true classic and one that I am sure to add to my personal bookshelf soon. And now I must watch the movie again too!!
