This study of the lives and careers of Leonardo da Vinci, Niccolo Machiavelli, and Cesare Borgia is especially useful for those who want to know more about the latter two; by necessity, the exploration of Leonardo's rich life and career are somewhat cursory, though there's a solid sense of his career in the more limited scope of time and place at the book's center. For someone who's read The Prince and wants a fuller picture of Machiavelli's world and the influences on his thinking, the book does exactly that, and quite effectively.
