A glorious, beautiful, witty book. This is what loving God's creation looks like. One of my all-time favorite books. Unfortunately, Capon writes under the false impression of a dichotomy between nourishing food and tasty food, but no matter. 5 stars.

Fraser Keep in mind that he wrote at the height of the 1960's, the era of the Jetson's meal-in-a-pill and a time when the scientific "wisdom" on nutrition was much more opposed to deliciousness than it is now, God be thanked.
