really liked it

Enjoyed this, particularly as a former East Bay mother and Mainiac who has experienced 98% of the same places and events (though not the van or mattress fiascos). Fun to see Montclair, Shen Hua, etc. in print. Gideon knows how to craft compelling sentences and I enjoyed her quirky wit - definitely felt the kindred spirit thing. I agree with comments about how the book was marketed/sold. A different experience than what I thought it would be. This was light, fun reading and I would look for another, hopefully longer and more weighty, offering from her in the future. She has the chops, that's for sure!
