I liked this book even more than I thought I would. I felt like it was Nicholas Sparks, but with a twist. He's usually all romance and heartbreak, but this book has a twist to it; a bit of a mystery. I enjoyed, Miles, the main character a great deal. I felt like I could relate to him and his misery about his wife dying (not a spoiler - it's on the book jacket). I must admit I liked the "toughness" of him being a sheriff, too. I felt that Sparks wrote a pretty accurate account of how a man, who is also a sheriff, but deeply in love with his wife would probably deal with his grief and anger at trying to find out who killed his wife. I've read a few of Sparks' books and I think this one is definitely my favorite. It's a great quick read, or a summer beach read.
