This is the fourth Inspector Gamache-Three Pines mystery from Louise Penny. And she just gets better and better.

The owner of the hotel tells Gamache that she has a rule against murder. “We made a deal with the forest. Any death that wasn’t natural wasn’t allowed.” Not even fishing.

The basis of this book is fathers and sons/daughters. Who loves who best. Do children really compete for a parent’s love? What will someone do for the love of their father? Or what they think they need to do for a parent’s love.

There were a few red herrings. And, I’ve got to admit, I didn’t get it. I fell for one or another of the red herrings.
