A solid follow-up to the first book in the series, this book follows Bernie and his dog Chet, partners in a private eye business. This time they're hired to guard a champion show dog, a tiny miniature poodle named Princess. After Chet makes a doggie faux pas at the first meeting Princess's female owner fires them both from the case. But shortly after Bernie is contacted by the police -- Princess and her owner have been kidnapped. Bernie and Chet are back on the case.

Like the first book, this story made me laugh quite a few times in the book. Chet and his interaction with Princess provided most of the amusement. Although the resolution to the crime comes as no surprise, I still enjoyed the ride.
