This book pulled me in from the first page! A modern gothic tale, while information was carefully being unspooled by the mysterious author Vida Winter to her biographer Margaret Lea I wanted to keep reading, but once Vida's strength fails and Margaret begins putting the pieces together it falls a bit too flat and the mysteries were easily solved. The satisfying ending was perhaps a bit too satisfying for such a harrowing mystery.
