It's a long time since I read the first book of the series, and I'd forgotten lots of stuff, but it didn't detract from the story.

What did detract was the continual change in sex partners. Even for a UF book and not a PNR the range and amount could only be compared to Anita Blake IMO.

Someone is after specific shifters & supernaturals to extract DNA to create modified super soldiers and also un-natural creatures to further their nefarious plans. Not to mention clones, as well.

Riley is right at the top of their list as she seems to have vampire speed when they only know she is a shifter.

Looks like Riley is going to have to become a Guardian after all, just like her brother Rhoan.
