This is story that takes place in the late 1800's almost 1900. Pru is on a mission to find the Holy Grail so that she can end her battle with cancer. She talks her Father into buying a piece of land that may contain it and the church gets wind of it so they send a couple of reps and one of them is a vampire named Chapel.
Pru is trying to make the best of a death sentence and falls in love with Chapel and he with her. I loved how strong Pru was and didn't let her cancer rule her life, she was determined to make the best of the hand that she was dealt and I really liked how she made Chapel realize that he is not a monster but a man that has been blessed. I can not lie this book made me cry near the end as I got to thinking about my mother and her battle with cancer.
I will continue on with the series.
