This book is not what I would call a novel but a bunch of separate stories about people that live in a town - loosely threaded together by the appearance of Olive in them (however brief). I found myself looking for Olive in each chapter rather than enjoying reading the story. I have to admit it was pretty funny at times and I did like Olive's visit with her son's second wife. The structure of this book makes for an easy quick read though. Maybe I would have liked this book better if it had been called something else. At least with Stephen Leacock's, Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town I knew what to expect.
