This book started a little slow for me, but I soon grew to love the characters and crazy situations they were put in as shy, gadget maker, Jane, ends up trying to find her kidnapped neighbor (Edie) with the help of neighbor's brother (Abel), her wheel-chair bound, ex-spy grandmother, her grandmother's crazy Yorkie and Edie's cat.
Although most of the book is outrageous, my main sticking point was the white Yorkie who weighed 15lbs. I've never heard of a white Yorkie and most are under 8 lbs. That and the fact Edie would have a certain item not removed for many days. But if you don't think about the inconsistencies, it is an enjoyable read, especially after they get to California.
