Read from August 05 to 09, 2011

The second book in my Fantasy In August event, has been in my TBR pile right after I read Snyder's Glass series and loved them. Spy Glass, last of the trilogy, is one of the few books I have gaven a 10/10 on my blog, it was also my #1 read in 2010. This series, the Study series, actually happens before the Glass series (5 years). I didn't feel "left out" because I didn't have the background on Yelena, Valek, Ixia, etc. before I read the Glass series. I didn't mind coming back and getting their story. That said...I didn't enjoy this book as much as Storm Glass. It was very awesome to see Yelena more and see her sassiness. In the Glass series she is not in them very much and when she is she always like a wise, older, calm teacher/mentor to Opal. It was cool to see some fight in her. I know I'm going to get some hate but...I'm just not a big fan of Valek. I didn't care for him too much in the Glass series and in Poison Study I liked him a tad more but still didn't care for him. I really don't like his one-way thinking. I was ready to give this a good grade but I felt the time Yelena was training got boring and the ending was okay and something Valek did was predictable. I really did enjoy this and will read on even though I do know "how it ends".

Liked: The plot
Disliked: Dragged in parts
Favorite Character: Yelena
Least Favorite Character: Brazell
Favorite Part: Yelena getting to out wit the soldiers
