This was an OK pirate romance. My biggest issue with this book was really the ending and I guess that also, at first, I didn't find the hero to be very romantic. He's full of bravado and "I will have her" inner monologue, but he became more sympathetic toward the end of the story.

I adored how Finn was so sure of herself and wasn't your typical romance novel heroine in that sense. She makes her own way, doesn't give a damn about marriage or other social conventions and she's just as happy without a man as she is with one. That contemporary sense of freedom is one I'd like to see more often in historical romance, but I know that's not happening any time soon.

3 stars for a fairly flat story and a heroine whose quick temper was cliche and obnoxious because it swung wildly back and forth between "death to all!" and "I'm good and subservient!" Not really two emotions that mesh well together.
