I really enjoyed this historical fiction/murder mystery. It was a good story and I was intrigued by the information about Child Bed Fever, an infection that affected so many women who gave birth in the 1800's. I was amazed and horrified to learn that so many women died because of something we take for granted as being basic medical knowledge (washing one's hands between patients). The story and characters were believable, and my only complaint was the development of the love story which seemed a little rushed and not as well developed as the other aspects of the story.
