I tried to read this, but I hated it. The main character was such an idiot & the writing style wasn't really turning me on, so I gave up on it halfway through.

Mohammed Dont tell me its your first Woolrich ?

It would be unlucky if it was....

Jim Yes, it was. I think this book is the only one HCC has by him, too. I could have gotten past the writing style, if the main character hadn't been such a fool, but I had absolutely no empathy for him. I was hoping he'd get shot or something 1/4 of the way through.

Mohammed Well its not even in top 10 of his books so dont worry about it.

The guy has literary talent in Noir fiction like only Hammett level writers.

Have you seen Hitchcock film Rear Window ? The novella i read are his and masterful.

Jim I'm sure I have seen Hitchcock's film, but it's been too many years. Thanks for letting me know. I won't turn down a book just because his name is on it.
