I was at powells the other day feeling too old in the graphic novel section and too young in the poetry section, so I ended up....once again, in the humor section. Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this new Onion collection.
Imagine my horror as I read headline after headline. I mean come on! It is not easy to offend my sensibilities (sometimes I wonder if I still have sensibilities) but OY! this was really, really bad.
I'm fully willing to laugh at anything and everything American but I just can't muster up a hearty laugh while looking at starving Ethiopians - white trash americans starving -that's funny stuff. 3rd world countries starving, not so funny.

101580 I think you should write your own book. You are one funny gal. I'd buy it.

565821 I agree that the Onion pushes the envelope on tasteless humor, but it's not an endorsement of human rights abuses - more like a scathing critique. And the starving Ethiopan thing is too horrifying to be funny - but the Onion is often incredibly hilarious.
