really liked it

I have made the boeuf bourguignon 3x, and it was superb every time. (The wine matters.) Other recipes demonstrate an excellent way with words, and around the kitchen. It isn't the all-purpose cookbook that its current mainstream popularity (that damned movie!) would have you think it is. The majority of its recipes and many of its ingredients are somewhat outside the bounds of what you would be likely to cook in the kitchen, even if you were, say, blogging about it every day. But I'm in no position to dispute that it fulfills its title.
