I'm not a fan of horror novels, which is not a problem for this novel as it isn't the least bit scary. It was interesting and amusing how the author wove facts, photos, and gaps in known events together based on the premise that Abe was a vampire hunter. It was also fun to "discover" the other historical figures at this time (plus, some past and subsequent) were either vampires or hunters.

I wouldn't say that this was a must-read novel, but it was enjoyable for its novelty and the author manages to make these real life characters fit well into his fictional world despite its fantastical nature.
