did not like it
bookshelves: narrative-nonfiction, not-fun-thing-i-will-not-try-again
Read in September, 2006

I was enjoying it, finding it interesting, constantly asking myself, How did he know that? And I wondered about the inexplicable text in italics and the list of references – all one Brazilian writer’s work – at the end. Then I read about the accusations of plagiarism and stopped liking the book, and felt perversely happy that some foreigner writer finally got busted for the rip-off of local writers, journalists and researchers that is so rampant when richer goes to study poorer. So much for that book.
