This translation is less poetic than Lattimore's, but it's also simpler. Plus, Fagles includes a marvelous and very accessible introduction. Translators sometimes play fast and loose with punctuation, pronouns, etc., and how many of us can read it in the original Greek?? (deep sigh) So it's nice to read these two versions side by side to get a richer understanding of the plays.
