it was amazing
bookshelves: latin-american, pura-belpre, award-winning

This is the first book I have read by, yuyi Morales. Her illustrations are glorious! They added so much to the story. This is an alphabet book with spanish words that both the text and illustrations help you to know the meaning of. It is a cute tale of a grandma who is having a party. The main character wants to bring her something special so he meets a ghost who helps him to find all of these amazing presents. Each present is another letter in the alphabet. You will have to read to see if he is late to the party or if he makes it. Oh and what will he bring Grandma?

Gina Pecoraro I did an author study on Yuyi Morales and found a new appreciation for her books and illustrations. Just in Case is a fun book to read with amazing illustrations. Did you read Just a Minute, which is her first book that features Senor Calavera? If not you should read it. I think it would make this book even more enjoyable. I also recommend going to her website. It has amazing resources for all her books. I think you will really enjoy it.
