There are 4 books in this series and they actually make up one big story. Which I liked. Told in first person by Jory, the gorgeous, twinkish hero of the story. He has an interesting relationship with Dane, his (straight) boss. He develops an up/down relationship with Sam, the detective who is working a case in which Jory witnessed a murder. Calmes does the first person pov very well, because you are entirely in Jory's head, and he often has a skewed take on things, not always reliable. And with Sam being so conflicted, you are never sure what's going on for him. And I think this works because of the length of the story - you have a lot of time to learn how these men work. I only wish the editing had been better!
