The author did a fantastic job gathering facts and details for the writing of this book. It was very thorough and dense with information. All the Zodiac letters, ciphers, and translations are included. However, with that said, I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I had hoped. It was a little dry, and SO packed with minute details that it lacked a feeling of mystery and intrigue, which is what I enjoy most from true-crime. Also, some of the names were changed - even the name of one of the major suspects - and while I totally get why this was the moral and necessary thing to do, I would have much preferred to have real names to compare with additional information online or in other books. I may have enjoyed it more if I'd known more about the case going into it, rather than this being my first foray into the Zodiac crimes.

My edition has a final chapter on the making of the movie Zodiac (with Jake Gyllenhaal). I'm going to wait until after I watch the movie, and then read this part!
