I haven't read Little Women in many years. But I read it at least three times during my child/teen years and remember it so fondly. When I was a kid, I couldn't understand how Jo could reject Laurie and marry the Professor. Now that I'm a married woman myself, I can see what she was thinking and why she probably was happier with the Professor. I think I was also drawn to read and reread this book because I am an only child, and I was so fascinated with the sisters' relationships with one another.

Finally, I subscribe to Jo's theory that eating apples while reading is a very pleasurable activity.
