it was amazing
bookshelves: dark, humor, fiction

I haven't read everything by Chuck Palahnuik, but I've read quite a lot of it. This is the first one I've read on Kindle. Throughout them all is a sense of humor that is completely off the wall and seems to come from a very odd, sometimes disturbing place deep inside .... and I love it.

His humor and writing style is not for everyone and I think Pygmy is not for all of his regular fans. The story itself isn't all that insane when compared to 'Survivor' or 'Invisible Monsters' - but it's pretty far out there. Where I think it will lose people is with the writing style; its voice is someone who's heard of english and maybe has a vocabulary, has never actually heard it used before.

But, it's a wonderful look at mainstream, middle-class suburban American life complete with all its consumerism, racism, and elitist attitudes intact.
