Dead Until Dark is like Twilight for grownups - with sex and everything!
Seriously, though...Stephanie Meyer must have read this before "dreaming" about Edward.
I red this book after finishing the first season of the HBO series True Blood. I loved the show - despite the cheesiness - and was in withdrawal after it ended. That's when I picked up the first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series.
The first few chapters were fun, but a bit of a disappointment. Nothing was new - the show had followed the book so closely! But once things started to diverge I was pleasantly surprised by how engaged I was in the book! It's the same story as any book to tv/book to movie comparisons, the book is so much deeper! Characters are more well rounded, events are more intense.
In short, I really enjoyed this book, and I'm currently reading the follow up, Living Dead in Dallas.
