** spoiler alert ** The beginning of this book started “Once upon a time, there was a woman who discovered she had turned into the wrong person.” Sometimes, especially this year with Doug’s job and the relocation, that’s how I feel too. Not the wrong person necessarily, but someone totally different than I ever expected I would be.
Rebecca is a fifty-three year old grandmother. She was a young widow with four daughters, three of them from her husband Joe’s first marriage. His family had turned their stately home into an event location, giving parties and weddings to earn a living. When she met him, she was a college student engaged to be engaged to her childhood sweetheart, Will. Joe made her smile and one day she just walked away from her previous life into one she had never planned.
She starts having very vivid dreams about a life she might have had. She dreams of a young son, down to the look of his hands. She keeps going back to the dreams as she looks at the life she has now. None of ...more
