This book is quite insightful to what our future beholds. Six teens are living in what is now called The Big Empty. That is, what was left of their world after a disease more horrible and deadly than The Plague itself raced through America. One day your best friend is hugging you close saying you're going to get through this, and the next, he's lying in the steets with no pulse and no color to him whatsoever.
Some people are left of course, but their not much better off with paranoia striking every other person you encounter, and having the government taking over everything, including your right to live or die.
The fact is, six teens don't have much of a chance against this new world. But you can bet they'll sure as heck try.
