This is the story of Katherine of Aragon, or as I like her, Catalina, Infanta of Spain. She is strong and spiritual yet calculating. It tells a lot about how women, even rising queens, had to struggle in a society of powerful and often misguided men. Katherine was constantly strategizing to get to where she needed to be, yet believed with all her heart that her destiny was to be queen. If you've read "The Other Boleyn Girl," you see distinct differences in how she strategizes versus the desperate methods of her nemesis, Anne Boleyn. Read both!
