I don't normally read fantasy, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Pullman is a creative man with a hell of an imagination. I plan to read the next one in this trilogy. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a break from the norm. It's a quick read.

Sarah Hi again Amy, these books are great. The audio recording is super, a full British cast. The series is very smart and creative and actually pretty dark for kids. Michael Chabon wrote a great essay about this series in his book of essays (I forget the name write now).
