The art in this, when it shies away from complicated "Where the Wild Things Are" homages, can actually become pretty incredible in it's density & complex microcosm of the headland, but the writing is really fucking terrible, especially when Ellsworth decide he needs to rhyme for ten pages. It's navel-gazing self-reflective bullshit, mostly. One of his editors, in one of the comic-as-memoir sections, suggests that he make "silent comix" and good God do I agree with that. However, the art is pretty dope, so it's not entirely useless.
